Cantamus is musically a tightly knit choir with a good balance and blend of voices, which we are keen to maintain. We are looking for musicality, ability to read music, hold a line alone within the group and blend with the rest of the choir.
We all come from a wide range of backgrounds with a shared love of singing together We enjoy the challenge of demanding new pieces in up to 8 voices, and aim for the best performances possible 3 – 4 times per year.
If you like a challenge, mixed with fun and camaraderie, then we are the bunch for you!

We do not have formal auditions but we do invite prospective members to join us for a rehearsal or two to see how well they fit musically and if they enjoy singing with us. Our rehearsals are on Tuesday nights at 7.30 pm in the village hall in Newbold on Stour.
Most of our music copies are provided, but members are sometimes required to buy scores.
