Matthew has recently taken over our choir after the retirement of our founding musical director and we look forward to the new challenges Matthew has up his sleeve for us!
Matthew’s full biography
Cantamus’ Founder & Director for 28 years
Richard Emms (B.Mus., ARCM, LRAM) founded Cantamus in 1997 and has been the choir’s Musical director until December 2025 when he retired.
“From all of us at Cantamus we Thank You Richard for everything you have done for us and we wish you farewell!”
Richard also founded and directed the Stour Singers from which he retired in May 2025.
